How to get a clean result

  1. Check the font first. If the letters look wide and round, your device is showing a fallback. Switch to a Windows PC with Office, or install Arial Narrow.
  2. Add tracking to small text. At 14 px and below, push letter spacing up by 0.2–0.5 px. The condensed letters otherwise start to touch.
  3. Use uppercase for labels. All-caps Arial Narrow with a little extra spacing makes sharp, compact table headers and buttons.
  4. Export PNG for sharing, SVG for editing. PNG looks the same everywhere. SVG stays editable but needs the font, or outlines, to look right.

What people make with this tool

Designers use the generator to mock up packaging labels and spec sheets before they open a layout app. Developers grab the CSS output to match a client's Office templates on the web. Job seekers check how a name and headline will look before they build a resume in Arial Narrow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the preview not look like Arial Narrow on my phone?

The tool draws text with fonts already on your device, because we do not host the Arial Narrow file. iPhones, most Android phones and Macs without Office lack it, so you see a fallback. Open the page on a Windows PC with Office to see the real font.

Will the SVG look right on a computer without Arial Narrow?

The SVG stores your words as live text, so it only looks right where the font is installed. For a logo or anything you send to others, open the SVG in Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma on a machine that has the font and convert the text to outlines. The PNG export is a flat image and looks the same everywhere.

Can I use the images I make here commercially?

The images belong to you. The font license is a separate question. If Arial Narrow is installed through Microsoft Office, using it to make graphics is generally allowed, but you cannot share the font file itself.

Does the tool upload my text anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Your text, colours and settings never leave your device.
